Opinión:

Tenía mucha curiosidad para leer este libro desde el momento en que vi que Oz Editorial iban a publicarlo. Es un libro que hasta ese momento no había visto aparecer en redes sociales, pero como los libros de esta editorial siempre me gustan decidí leerlo. También me llamó muchísimo la atención el hecho de que los personajes fueran homosexuales dentro de un libro de fantasía épica. 

En el momento en que su padre muere, Damen futuro rey legítimo de Akielos se ve capturado y vendido como esclavo sexual al reino de Vere, la nación enemiga, puesto que su medio hermano se hace con el poder.  En Vere se convierte en el esclavo sexual del príncipe Laurent, un hombre que si supiera su identidad real, no dudaría en matarlo. En esa corte Damen pronto descubrirá que nada es lo que parece y empezará una serie de intrigas que nos llevarán al siguiente libro.

La ambientación del libro es muy buena y nos da la oportunidad de recrear en nuestra cabeza los detalles. El reino de Akielos me recuerda al mundo grecorromano y sus guerreros son tan fuertes como los espartanos. En cambio, el reino de Vere me recuerda tanto en manera de hacer como en ropajes a las fiestas de máscaras venecianas, dónde nada es lo que parece y todo el mundo esconde algo.

En el caso de los personajes, Damen me recuerda en cierta manera a Aquiles, tanto como físico como su historia. Es un hombre fuerte con las convicciones muy claras. Por otro lado, Laurent vemos que es el típico chico mimado acostumbrado a estar a la sombra de su hermano y de su tío, el regente. Es un personaje que evoluciona mucho a lo largo del libro y poco a poco se van entendiendo sus motivaciones.

Sin embargo, en cuanto a la trama se trata, para mi gusto ha sido floja. Me ha faltado entrar más en la acción política, ya que el libro es principalmente introductorio. En el caso del romance, también me he encontrado un poco con lo mismo, se ha quedado un poco a medias.

En conclusión, es un libro que recomiendo pues la idea es muy buena y estoy convencida que la continuación nos dará todo lo que a este le ha faltado.

Opinion:

I was very curious to read this book from the moment I saw that Oz Editorial was going to publish it. It is a book that until that moment I had not seen appear on social networks, but as I always like the books of this editorial I decided to read it. I was also struck by the fact that the characters were homosexuals in an epic fantasy book.

The moment his father dies, Damen the future legitimate king of Akielos is captured and sold as a sex slave to the kingdom of Vere, the enemy nation, since his half brother got into power. In Vere he becomes the sexual slave of Prince Laurent, a man who, if he knew his real identity, would not hesitate to kill him. In that court Damen will soon discover that nothing is what it seems and a series of intrigues that will take us to the next book will begin.

The setting of the book is very good and gives us the opportunity to recreate the details in our head. The kingdom of Akielos reminds me of the Greco-Roman world and its warriors are as strong as the Spartans. On the other hand, the kingdom of Vere reminds me as much in the manner of making as in costumes the Venetian mask parties, where nothing is what it seems and everyone hides something.

In the case of the characters, Damen reminds me somewhat of Achilles, both physically and his story. He is a strong man with very clear convictions. On the other hand, Laurent we see that he is the typical spoiled boy used to be in the shadow of his brother and his uncle, the regent. It is a character that evolves a lot throughout the book and little by little we can understand his motivations.

However, as far as the plot is concerned, for my taste it has been lax. I have lacked to enter more into political action, since the book is mainly introductory. In the case of romance, I have also found a bit of the same, it has been a little half.

In conclusion, it is a book that I recommend because the idea is very good and I am convinced that the continuation will give us everything that this has lacked.
